Paul B. Manning

Founder, President, and CEO

Paul Manning is the President and CEO of PBM Capital Group based in Charlottesville, VA. PBM Capital Group is a private equity investment firm in the business of investing in health care related companies, research and trials. An entrepreneur with thirty years of experience in the healthcare industry, Mr. Manning founded PBM Capital Group in 2010. For the past four and a half years he and his executive team have focused their work towards areas of pharmaceuticals, genomics and in the molecular diagnostic space. Mr. Manning’s most recent acquisition was of Breas, a respiratory and sleep apnea focused business based in Sweden. Breas was acquired from GE Healthcare in early spring of 2014.

Mr. Manning graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a B.S. in Microbiology in 1977, and throughout the course of his career, he has successfully founded several companies. Both were companies that developed and distributed prescription and over the counter products to major chains in the United States. In 1997 Mr. Manning founded PBM Products, which became the largest private label producer of infant formula and baby/toddler food in the world. PBM Products was sold to Perrigo Corporation in 2010, at which time, Mr. Manning decided to found PBM Capital Group. Mr. Manning was named Virginia Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young in 2002.

Mr. Manning is an active member of the University of Virginia community. For the 2012-2013 school year he served on the Board of the UVA Strategic Planning Committee and the Board of the University of Virginia Health Foundation, and he is currently serving on the Board of the President’s Advisory Committee for the 2014-2015 school year. Mr. Manning is an avid sports fan and a supporter of the UVA Athletics Association, and he enjoys spending time at the UVA football and basketball games in the fall and spring.

Mr. Manning has been married for thirty years to his wife Diane, and has three children, Bradford, Kaitlyn and Bryan.
